CPR and AED Basic First Aid Certification Courses in the Leesburg Area

SCS Safety Health & Security Associates is offering monthly CPR Certification Courses in the Leesburg VA area. Our CPR & AED Basic First Aid classes are certifications courses and are taught by hybrid blended learning. Online and in person skills assessment and testing.

Once registration and payment are confirmed, you will be sent a link via email to join the online class (Part One). The online course (Part One) needs to be completed prior to the scheduled hands-on skills practical and testing date (Part-two). During part-two of the course, you will participate, and demonstrate the skills, and key knowledge set forth by American Safety & Health Institute’s (ASHI) curriculum specifications. Each participant will take a written test for each topic presented for certification. Upon successfully passing the written test(s), hands-on skills practical and testing session, you will be issued a certification card.

The online classroom (Part one) should take about three to four hours. The hands-on skills practical and testing should take approximately 3 hours.

* ATTENTION * COVID-19 POLICY & PROTOCOL:

All students will be screened by answering a questionnaire. We want to make sure everyone is healthy when they come to class. Anyone not feeling well the day of class can reschedule, without penalty.

Students may choose to wear a mask during class. The only exception is when demonstrating skills. A mask IS NOT REQUIRED to be worn during class. If you choose to wear a mask, then you must provide your own mask.

All students will be asked to wear gloves during our training.

Each student will be assigned a manikin and AED trainer, and there will be MINIMAL SHARING OF EQUIPMENT AND/OR MATERIALS.

Social Distancing is important and will be monitored. Class size will be adjusted accordingly.

The hands-on skills practical and testing will be held in Leesburg, VA

Time: Weekday classes will be held in the evening starting at 6:00 PM. Saturday morning classes will start promptly at 9 AM.

Type: Health and Safety Institute (HSI) / American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI)

Our courses meet requirements for OSHA, VA. Dept. of Social Services, Fitness Industry, VA Dept. of Education. The course will cover CPR procedures for the Adult, Child and Infant, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Basic First Aid will cover controlling bleeding, shock, amputation, burns, sudden illness, stroke diabetic emergencies, choking and much more.

Different Versions of CPR & AED Basic First Aid Courses Offered

CPR & AED Basic First Aid is structured for people in the workplace and community. Teachers, construction industry, parents, school bus drivers, emergency response teams in a work setting. The course will cover CPR procedures for the Adult, Child and Infant, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), along with Basic First Aid procedures like controlling bleeding, shock, amputation, burns, sudden illness, stroke diabetic emergencies, choking and much more. $85, includes digital certification, digital book and additional resources. CPR only – $75

Pediatric CPR & AED Basic First Aid is structured for people who are Preschool teachers, daycare providers. The course will cover CPR procedures for the Adult, Child and Infant, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), along with Basic First Aid procedures like controlling bleeding, shock, amputation, burns, sudden illness, choking and much more. $85, includes digital certification, digital book and additional resources.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Providers. This course is for Healthcare Providers ONLY. Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. ASHI’s/HSI Basic Life Support, BLS for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). It is the student’s responsibility to find out from their employer, or governing body if ASHI Basic Life Support version will be acceptable to their company. $100, includes digital certification, digital book and additional resources.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Our CPR certification courses are taught by blended learning and is divided into two parts: The classroom lecture will be done online, and the hands-on practical skills and testing. By purchasing this course, you agree and understand that the online course must be completed within 48-hours (2-days) of the date you have selected above (hands-on class date).

REFUNDS POLICY: Please understand ~ There are no refunds. If you are unsure as to the level of CPR you should register for, please call us. We will help you. If you are not committed in attending the class, please wait until you are.

RESCHEDULING CLASS:

Our class size is limited to six to eight (6-8) students (depending on the location). This is to ensure we have proper student to instructor ratio, and plenty of working room for each student. We understand there may be a need to reschedule class. Please understand, when you register for a class, you are taking a “seat” for the class. When you reschedule, it may leave a seat open, that could have been occupied by someone else. We do not oversell our classes.

If you need to reschedule, you will need to be registered into another class, within 45-days of your original class date.

There will be a $30 Administrative Fee for the following:

If WITHIN 48-Hours of the scheduled class, the online portion of the class is started but not completed, OR not started at all.
If for some reason a new course link needs to be issued, the Administrative Fee is for a new online course link.
If the Student, no shows or shows up late the day of class. The student is considered late to class, if we have begun the hands-on skills.

The Administrative Fee will be charged prior to rescheduling of the class.

PLEASE NOTE: The class must have enough participants (minimum of 4) in order to proceed. If there are not enough participants for a particular class, students will be seated for the next available class. SCS Safety Health and Security Associates reserve the right to cancel a class at any time for any reason.
