SCS Safety Health & Security Associates offers many EMS Education Courses, that are beneficial, and very educational.  

Course Offerings

Anthrax and Bio Terrorism Awareness – The course, designed for general business and industry, is an overview of Bio Terrorism and Anthrax as a terrorist agent. At the conclusion of the program, you will have better knowledge of Bio Terrorism and Bio Terrorism agents, an understanding of Anthrax and pre-planning ideas. Course Length: 2 Hours

Nursing Home Safety – This course is specifically for skilled nursing facilities, personal care center, and group retirement centers, and covers important safety issues that surround these types of facilities. Course Length: 1-2 Hours

Paramedic Assistant – The program is for BLS providers to help better understand the functions of a Paramedic, ALS equipment, and procedures. By better understanding ALS, it promotes having a better working knowledge in the field. This is a one-day course and provides continuing education credit. Course Length: 8 Hours

Documentation for EMS – This class provides review, and practical application of proper documentation for the purpose of medical reporting. Course Length: 2 Hours

Advanced Airway Assessment and Management – The program will review airway anatomy, basic difficult airway indicators and airway management. Course Length: 3 hours

Baseline Vital Signs and SAMPLE History – This course will go over the importance of obtaining baseline vital signs and SAMPLE history. Course Length: 2 Hours

BLS and ALS EMS CE Programs for EMS Agencies– SCS has certified VA and National Certified EMS Educators who can provide BLS and ALS CE Programs for your agency. Please contact us to inquire how we can help you reach your education goals. 

Bariatric Care and Transport – This course provides a review of treating and transporting Bariatric EMS Patients. Sepsis Not Just an Infection – This course reviews the pathophysiology of Sepsis, the signs and symptoms, care and treatment.

Medical Respirator N95 Fit Testing – We can provide agencies regulatory set up of airborne compliant plans and fit testing for N95 respirators for medical purposes.  Fit testing is compliance to the Code of Federal Regulations 42CFR84, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) requirements for the use of N95 respirator protection programs.

                   

Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) – GEMS is a course designed specifically to help EMS providers and other Allied Health Providers address all of the special needs of the older population. Course Length: 12-16 Hours

EMS Safety Program – The program is designed to promote a culture of EMS safety and help reduce the number and intensity of injuries incurred by EMS practitioners in carrying out their work.  Course Length: 8 Hours
