SAFETY CLASSES FOR EVERYONE

We are excited to announce we have ongoing safety classes.  Currently these are the classes that have been scheduled.  This page will be updated often as classes are scheduled.  These classes are open to the public, and we hope you will join us for one of our upcoming classes. These classes can also be set up for groups at individual companies to help comply with your company’s needs.

OSHA 30-Hour for the Construction Industry – This course provides a comprehensive safety training experience, an overview to OSHA policies, procedures and standards and basic occupations, as well as safety and health principles. Additionally, the course covers a wide range of workplace hazards covered by the OSHA standards. This course is perfect for those who are management and/or in Supervisory positions. safety

Silica for the Competent Person – Exposure to respirable crystalline silica can cause silicosis, lung cancer, other respiratory diseases and kidney disease. About two million construction workers are exposed in over 600,000 workplaces. OSHA estimates more than 840,000 workers are exposed to silica levels that exceed the new permissible exposure limit. Workers and contractors need to recognize the hazard, understand the risk factors and work safety with silica. This is an excellent course for Safety and Project Managers, Management Staff, Supervisors, Lead Persons, and Employees involved with safety operations or silica operations. silica

 

CPR/AED and Basic First Aid – We offer five (5) sessions each month, that are open to the public. Classes are taught by Blended Learning Method.  Blended Learning is designed to cut down on the time spent in the classroom and is designed to provide more hands-on learning time.  Students will have to complete online course work, then attend the hands-on skills and testing session.  Our courses meet requirements for OSHA, VA. Dept. of Social Services, Fitness Industry, VA Dept. of Education.   The course will cover CPR procedures for the Adult, Child and Infant, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  Basic First Aid will cover controlling bleeding, shock, amputation, burns, sudden illness, stroke diabetic emergencies, choking and much more.   Our courses are perfect for everyone who wants to learn a life-saving skill, construction industry fitness instructors, teachers, daycare providers, new parents, new grandparents, bus drivers, and many others.  cpr & aed
