CPR and AED Basic First Aid Courses

CPR AED and Basic First Aid

This course is perfect for anyone wanting to learn a life saving skill.  Not for anyone in the medical industry, this course covers the use of an AED, basic first aid, and CPR procedures for the adult, child and infant.  Upon completion, participants will know how to handle bleeding, shock, amputation, burns, sudden illness, stroke, diabetic emergencies, choking, and more. Emergency response teams in the workplace, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, parents, and babysitters.

Instructor-Led Course

An instructor delivers this course via an interactive video lecture. At the end of the course, we administer a test. A proficient demonstration of hands-on skills and a passing score on the written test will result in a certification.

Basic First Aid for the Community and Workplace

We conduct a nationally recognized first-aid program to help students develop basic first-aid knowledge, skills, and confidence in responding to emergencies. Our program follows the guidelines of the 2020 National First Aid Science Advisory Board and OSHA.

Blended Learning / Hybrid Course

Our blended learning course for basic first aid includes online coursework and in-person hands-on skills demonstration. Our participants can access the online coursework via email using a laptop or computer.

After completing the course work, participants will demonstrate their skills and critical knowledge recommended by HSI / ASHI’s curriculum specifications. If they pass the test, participants will be given a certification.

Additional Health Course Offerings

Basic Life Support CPR

This course is for those who are the  emergency response teams, first responders and healthcare workers, such as EMTs, firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors,  police officers, and more. It covers CPR procedures for adults, children and infants, two-person CPR, and the usage of barrier devices.

Bloodborne Pathogens (2-Hour Class)

Understand what bloodborne pathogens are and how to reduce the risk of exposure. This program is needed for the requirements of the US. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens standards (29CFR 1910.1030).

Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS)

Babysitting is not just watching the children. You are also responsible for their safety and well-being. This community education program teaches babysitters child safety and basic care techniques for infants and children.

Emergency Oxygen Administration (2-Hour Class)

We will teach healthcare professionals how to comply with the FDA requirements for oxygen administration. It is beneficial training for medical professionals and laypeople who may administer oxygen as a therapy.

Sports First Aid and Injury Prevention

Coaches are often the first to respond. This course teaches them how to administer first aid to sick and injured athletes and prevent illnesses and injuries from occurring. This custom training lasts 12 to 16 hours and provides knowledge of several sports injuries.

American Safety & Health Institute – ACLS Certification Courses

SCS Safety Health & Security Associates with offerings monthly or customized courses for individuals or groups, for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification Courses, our certification courses are taught by hybrid blended learning method. ASHI Advanced Cardiac Life Support program is a scenario (case-based) continuing education ACLS course intended for trained and skilled healthcare providers who either direct or participate in cardiopulmonary emergencies and resuscitation efforts. This ACLS certification course is designed to provide students with an opportunity to enhance and refine knowledge and hands-on skill proficiency in emergency cardiovascular care. ASHI’s ACLS training program conforms to the 2020 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC.

Participant prerequisites

All participants must be previously trained, skilled and be able to:

  • Understand cardiovascular pharmacology, prepare and administer essential cardiovascular medications

Successful completion (certification)

  • Written evaluation: Successful completion requires a correct score of 75% or better.
  • Performance evaluation: Students must successfully complete a performance evaluation of the following:
  • High-quality BLS (CPR/AED)
  • Respiratory arrest
  • Cardiac rhythm management including pulseless
  • VT/VF/Asystole and 2 other rhythms

ASHI/HSI Certification, is the same as an AHA certification based on:

ASHI/HSI resuscitation training programs conform to the ILCOR 2020 Consensus of Science, and the 2020 AHA Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science. ASHI/HSI resuscitation programs meets the standards of Joint Commission, are accepted as equivalent to the AHA by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems, the Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the United State Coast Guard Health Services Program, among others. ASHI/HSI, like American Heart Association (AHA) is a nationally accredited organization of the Emergency Medical Services Continuing Education Hours (CAPCE is the national accrediting body for EMS continuing education. ASHI/HSI educational programs are CAPCE approved. ASHI/HSI is a member of the National First Aid Science Advisory Board, co-founded by the American Red Cross and American Heart Association®, Inc. (AHA), and a participant in the International Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) 2020 International Conference on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) Science with Treatment Recommendations, hosted by the AHA.

ASHI/HSI’S Advanced Cardiac Life Support Program content is based upon the following science, treatment recommendations, and guidelines: • 2020 International Consensus on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care Science with Treatment Recommendations. • 2020 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

ACLS Course Location and Cost

Course is taught by Hybrid Blended Learning method. The online course is 8-hours. Hands-on skills and testing are 6 to 8 hours.

ACLS Provider (Full Course) $210 per person – Price includes online course link, web-based student book, certification card, and course supplies.

ACLS Provider (Recertification) $150 per person – Price includes online course link, web-based student book, certification card, and course supplies.

2-year certifications, Continuing Education Credits available for Nurses and EMS Personnel.

EMS Education Courses

SCS Safety Health and Security Associates LLC offers educational courses for those who want to learn more about emergency medical services (EMS).

Anthrax and Bio-Terrorism Awareness (2 Hours)

After this course, you will have extensive knowledge and better pre-planning ideas regarding handling Bio-Terrorism, Bio-Terrorism Agents, and Anthrax.

Nursing Home Safety (1-2 Hours)

We offer this course for skilled nursing facilities, personal care centers, and group retirement centers. It also covers important safety issues surrounding these facilities.

Paramedic Assistance (8 Hours)

After this course, BLS providers will perform better regarding paramedic assistance, ALS equipment, and other procedures. It also provides continuing education credit after this one-day course.

Documentation for EMS (2 Hours)

Our class also provides a review and practical application of proper documents for medical reporting.

Advanced Airway Assessment and Management (2 Hours)

This course discusses airway anatomy, basic difficult airway indicators, and airway management.

Baseline Vital Signs and SAMPLE History (2 Hours)

This course will provide an overview regarding the importance of obtaining baseline vital signs and go over SAMPLE history.

BLS and ALS EMS CE Programs for EMS Agencies

VA and National Certified EMS educators teach BLS and ALS CE Programs.

Sepsis Not Just an Infection

This course reviews the pathophysiology of Sepsis, the signs and symptoms, care, and treatment.

Bariatric Care and Transport

We provide an overview of treating and transporting Bariatric EMS patients.

Medical Respirator N95 Fit Testing
